Special Events

Join Us for an Upcoming Event

Each year, the Benedictine Schools of Richmond hosts a variety of special events that support our two schools’ missions while building relationships with our loyal community members. The Boxing Smoker and Get Down & Derby are the two largest fundraising events held each year to help raise money for student tuition assistance.

More information and registration will be available closer to the date of each of event. We hope to see you at one or all of the events below, so mark your calendars today!
  • Vino with a View Vino with a View
    September 15, 2026 - An annual event open to all Saint Gertrude alumnae 21+ to reconnect and come together on campus for a very special evening.
  • Hunt and Gather Hunt and Gather
    October 21 and 23, 2026 - A benefit to raise funds for BSoR’s Conservation and Hunt program, which cultivates among our students an appreciation, love and fervor for the outdoors, mainly through hunting, fishing and conservation. Sponsors participate in an upland bird hunt and English style pheasant shoot on Wednesday, followed by a BSoR community "Gather" party on Friday night that features BBQ, oyster roast, and live band. Sponsorships and ticket information coming soon!
  • Homecoming Homecoming
    October 24, 2026 - For our annual BSoR homecoming, all BCP and SGHS alumni are invited to return to campus to tailgate and cheer on the Cadet football team! Tailgate tents for each class are available for those classes celebrating a reunion, whether it’s five years or 45. Details coming soon!
  • Memorial Mass Memorial Mass
    November 2, 2026- Held annually, former Cadets, Gators, faculty, and staff known to have passed away since our last memorial mass are remembered by name during the Intercessions of a special memorial Mass.
  • Veterans Day Veterans Day
    November 11, 2026- Held annually, our Benedictine and Saint Gertrude veterans are honored during a special ceremony on the parade deck. The ceremony begins with a Pass in Review and is followed by a reception for veterans and their families.
  • BCCC and The Gathering BCCC and The Gathering
    December 27-29, 2026 - We are excited to host the 60th Annual BSoR Capital City Classic! Held annually, the tournament will run from Sunday, December 27 through Tuesday, December 29, 2026. The Gathering (an alumni-only event) kicks off the first night of the tournament in the Frances-Clarke Hyman Skybox. Registration information will be available closer to the event date.
  • Parater Day of Giving Parater Day of Giving
    February 4, 2027 - The Day of Giving is held each February to raise money for Parater Scholarships, which make attending a superb Catholic high school affordable for middle-income families. That single day’s activities, and the generosity that accompanies it, are the sole means by which these scholarships are funded.
  • Song Contest Song Contest
    March 12, 2027 - A Saint Gertrude tradition of more than 75 years, Song Contest is a musical competition among the four classes. Each class presents a program of familiar tunes with their very own, original lyrics and the Saint Gertrude High School alma mater. 
  • Boxing Smoker Boxing Smoker
    March 6, 2027 - The Boxing Smoker is an exciting 21+ BSoR community event dedicated to raising funds for a specified endowment at Benedictine. Enjoy an unforgettable evening featuring professional boxing, cigar smoking, and plenty of camaraderie among alumni, parents, and friends.


  • Get Down & Derby Get Down & Derby
    May 1, 2027 - Join us for our annual Derby Party! This event raises funds for young women who dream of a Saint Gertrude education, but whose families need tuition assistance to help that dream become a reality. Don your most elegant headwear or a dapper bow tie and enjoy an evening of delicious food and cocktails, live viewing of the Kentucky Derby, a hat contest, silent and live auctions, and live music and dancing.
  • Benedictine Graduation Benedictine Graduation
    June 3, 2027 - Family, friends, and alumni attend Commencement on campus to celebrate the graduating seniors. The 50th year reunion class is honored with reserved floor seating and a luncheon following graduation. 
  • Saint Gertrude Graduation Saint Gertrude Graduation
    June 4, 2027 - Family, friends, and alumnae attend Commencement on campus to celebrate the graduating seniors. The 50th year reunion class is honored with reserved floor seating and a luncheon following graduation.
