Special Events

Join Us for an Upcoming Event

Each year, the Benedictine Schools of Richmond hosts a variety of special events that support our two schools’ missions while building relationships with our loyal community members. The Boxing Smoker and Envision are the two largest fundraising events held each year to help raise money for student tuition assistance.

More information and registration will be available closer to the date of each of event. We hope to see you at one or all of the events below, so mark your calendars today!

Hunt and Gather
October 24, 2025 - A benefit to raise funds for BSoR’s Conservation and Hunt program, which cultivates among our students an appreciation, love and fervor for the outdoors, mainly through hunting, fishing and conservation. Sponsors participate in an upland bird hunt and English style pheasant shoot during the day, followed by a BSoR community "Gather" party that features BBQ, oyster roast, and live band. Homecoming
October 25, 2025 - Our annual BSoR homecoming invites all BCP and SGHS alumni to return to campus to tailgate and cheer on the Cadet football team! Tailgate tents for each class are available for those classes celebrating a reunion, whether it’s five years or 45. Details coming soon!
Memorial Mass
November 3, 2025- Held annually, former Cadets, Gators, faculty, and staff known to have passed away since our last memorial mass are remembered by name during the Intercessions of a special memorial Mass.
Veterans Day
November 11, 2025- Held annually, our Benedictine and Saint Gertrude veterans are honored during a special ceremony on the parade deck. The ceremony begins with a Pass in Review and is followed by a reception for veterans and their families.
BCCC and The Gathering
December 27-29, 2025 - We are excited to host the 2025 BSoR Capital City Classic! Held annually, the tournament will run from Saturday, December 27 through Monday, December 29, 2025. The Gathering (alumni only event) kicks off the first night of the tournament in the Frances-Clarke Hyman Skybox. Tickets for The Gathering coming soon.
Parater Day of Giving
February 6, 2026 - The Day of Giving is held each February to raise money for Parater Scholarships, which make attending a superb Catholic high school affordable for middle-income families. That single day’s activities, and the generosity that accompanies it, are the sole means by which these scholarships are funded. Please check back for details and to make your gift.
Song Contest
February 27, 2026 - A Saint Gertrude tradition of more than 70 years, Song Contest is a musical competition among the four classes. Each class presents a program of familiar tunes with their very own, original lyrics and the Saint Gertrude High School alma mater. Details coming January 2026.
Boxing Smoker
March 7, 2026 - The Boxing Smoker is an exciting 21+ event dedicated to raising funds for a specified endowed scholarship, helping future Cadets attend Benedictine. Enjoy an unforgettable evening featuring professional boxing, cigar smoking, and plenty of camaraderie among alumni, parents, and friends.

Envision
May 2, 2026 - An evening to raise funds for young women who dream of a Saint Gertrude education but whose families need tuition assistance to help that dream become a reality. The event features a silent and live auction, paddle raise, raffle, heavy hors d'oeuvres, live music and dancing. Details coming Spring 2026.
Benedictine Graduation
May 28, 2026 - Family, friends, and alumni attend commencement on campus celebrating the graduating seniors. The 50th year reunion class is honored with reserved floor seating and a luncheon following graduation.
Saint Gertrude Graduation
May 29, 2026 - Family, friends, and alumnae attend commencement on campus celebrating the graduating seniors. The 50th year reunion class is honored with reserved floor seating and a luncheon following graduation.
Rut's Classic Golf Tournament
June 1, 2026 - An annual golf tournament each spring that honors Benedictine’s longtime head basketball coach, Warren Rutledge. Sponsorship and registration info coming Spring 2026.
