The Rut's Classic is named after Benedictine basketball coaching legend, Warren Rutledge or "Coach Rut," to honor the remarkable contributions he made during his 43 years as a coach, athletic director, and teacher at Benedictine. All proceeds from the tournament directly support the Warren S. Rutledge Scholarship Fund, which provides tuition assistance for student-athletes at Benedictine.
