On Friday, May 30, Saint Gertrude celebrated its 102nd Commencement honoring the Class of 2025! At graduation, attendees were inspired with speeches from Lydia Stumpf, the Class of 2025 valedictorian, Maia Jones, salutatorian, and Catherine Curley Murphy ’75, this year’s commencement speaker.
The Class of Navy and Gold consists of 49 Gators who were accepted into 95 different colleges and universities and matriculated to 22 of them. We are so proud of you--as women of God, as women of Saint Gertrude, as women who will go out and change the world.
Congratulations, NavyandGold!
Speech Excerpt from Head of School Amy Roussy Pickral '95
“When I think about Navy and Gold, I will remember giving them a tour of the new building before it opened. They were shaking, they were so excited. They kept saying over and over, ‘I can’t believe it… Mrs. Pickral, are you kidding me?’ They were so awestruck and effusive in their feelings, their appreciation, and their excitement.
"And honestly, you all are like that as a class, most days! Fun, adventurous, and grateful. Your enthusiastic spirit is refreshing and uplifting—and it will serve you well when you face challenges, because you will not face them alone.”
