Speech Excerpt from Head of School Amy Roussy Pickral '95
I have known many Saint Gertrude classes, and I must say that you all, collectively, are among the finest examples of the Benedictine value of hospitality that I have ever had the privilege to witness. You seek out ways to lift each other up and go out of your way to encourage the younger students. How blessed each of you are to be a member of this class–you have chosen to inspire each other to bring the very best of yourselves to our halls each day. I pray that, as you form your own new communities, that you fight hard to recreate, amplify, and multiply the spirit of Pink and Lime.
Pink and Lime, you will never forget your high school years, and Saint Gertrude will never forget you. Congratulations on all the hard work that led you to your seat here on the floor today, and on making the most of your time here TOGETHER. May you always smile when you remember being surrounded by your SGHS sisters–decorating the dungeon hallway on Stuart Avenue, winning Song Contest (did I mention they won three times??), being welcomed into our community when you transferred, or marching proudly into the Pavilion today. Your teachers and families are so proud of you.
Congratulations to the Class of 2023...the Class of Pink and Lime!
